We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Intermediate Laboratory Technician possessing 5+ years of experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play an significant role in the day-to-day testing of construction materials and will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable test results. Duties and responsibilities for this position will include:

- Perform day-to-day laboratory testing of samples received from private-sector clients and government contracts;
- Conduct laboratory testing of aggregates, soils, asphalt, and concrete;
- Perform field quality control and inspection of construction materials;
- Collect and properly handle materials samples in accordance with applicable standards and procedures;
- Complete data entry, calculations,



and preparation of test results;
- Review test results and promptly flag any non-conforming or failed results to the appropriate supervisor;
- Organize and prioritize daily tasks independently based on workflow, project requirements, and established deadlines;
- Maintain the laboratory and personal work areas in a clean, organized, safe, and professional manner; and
- Operate, inspect, and maintain laboratory testing equipment, including completing scheduled equipment maintenance and ensuring equipment is in proper working condition.

Job Requirements: The successful candidate will be relied upon to deliver laboratory services to various professional staff. A motivation to provide high-quality customer service is essential to the role. In addition, the candidate should have the following qualifications and skills:

· Preferably CCIL certified (HMA and Type C);

· Candidate must have a college diploma and /or significant work experience related to materials laboratory testing;

· CET Certification is considered an asset;

· Know and be comfortable with standards codes such as ASTM, LS, CSA, etc;

· Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner;

· Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment;

· Ability to work well with others and independently;

· Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail;

· Excellent communication skills, and;

· Valid driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Pay Range: $26 to $30 per hour – salary is commensurate with education and experience
