- We’re looking for an Intern Assistant Editor to join our team full-time in our Toronto office. This is an in-office opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in commercial post-production while learning from experienced editors, assistant editors, and producers.

About the Role

- The Intern Assistant Editor will support our editorial team across a variety of commercial projects and gain exposure to the day-to-day workflow of a professional post-production studio.
- This is a learning-focused role for someone who is passionate about film, editing, and post-production and is eager to develop their technical and organizational skills in a fast-paced creative environment. The ideal candidate is curious, reliable, organized, and comfortable asking questions and learning new workflows.

Responsibilities

- Assist editors and assistant editors with day-to-day editorial tasks.
- Help organize and manage project files, footage, graphics, music, and other media.
- Assist with media ingest, syncing, transcoding, and basic project organization.
- Prepare and organize footage and assets for editorial.
- Help maintain organized project folders and ensure files are properly labelled and stored.
- Assist with media backups, archives, and general file management.
- Support editors with research, reference materials, and other editorial tasks as needed.
- Help prepare projects for client reviews and internal presentations.




- Learn and follow Nimiopere’s technical and organizational workflows.
- Assist with basic quality control and ensure deliverables are properly prepared.
- Take on additional responsibilities as skills and experience develop.

Qualifications

- Recent graduate, or someone beginning their career in film, editing, post-production, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Avid Media Composer and/or Adobe Premiere Pro
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.
- Basic understanding of video formats, codecs, frame rates, and file management.
- Robust organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn professional post-production workflows.
- Ability to take direction, receive feedback, and work collaboratively.
- Robust communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-office creative environment.
