Are you a passionate nursing leader with a commitment to resident safety, clinical excellence, and infection prevention? Our client, a well-established long-term care home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario , is seeking an experienced Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC) Lead / Assistant Director of Care (ADOC) to join their leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an RN who enjoys leading quality initiatives, mentoring clinical staff, and driving best practices while playing a key role in supporting exceptional resident care.

What You'll Do

As the IPAC Lead / ADOC, you will work closely with the Director of Care and interdisciplinary leadership team to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with all provincial legislation and infection prevention standards.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Lead and oversee the home's Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC) program.
- Monitor, investigate, and manage infectious disease outbreaks in collaboration with Public Health.
- Ensure compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, Ministry of Long-Term Care requirements, and Public Health Ontario best practices.
- Support the Director of Care with day-to-day clinical operations and nursing leadership.
- Mentor, coach, and support RNs, RPNs,



and PSWs to promote clinical excellence.
- Conduct audits, quality improvement initiatives, and infection surveillance.
- Assist with policy development, education, and staff competency training.
- Participate in accreditation, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
- Support resident admissions, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Foster a culture focused on resident-centred care, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Previous leadership experience in Long-Term Care, Retirement Living, or complex continuing care.
- Completion of, or willingness to complete, the IPAC Core Competencies Program.
- Solid knowledge of infection prevention and control practices and outbreak management.
- Excellent knowledge of Ontario long-term care legislation and regulatory standards.
- Experience with quality improvement, compliance, and clinical audits.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A collaborative approach with a passion for mentoring and developing teams.
