About Us

Maplesoft Group is currently seeking IT Programmer/Software Developer resources for a contract opportunity. These resources will contribute to the development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of Business Intelligence dashboards, web applications, and mobile applications within a secure government environment. This is an in office opportunity in Petawawa, ON and Ottawa, ON.

Position Summary The successful candidates will support an ongoing Business Intelligence application development initiative by designing, developing, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting secure web and database applications. Resources will work with Oracle products, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL to deliver responsive front-end interfaces, back-end application logic, and relational database solutions.

The requirement includes both Level 1 and Level 2 Programmer/Software Developer resources. Level 2 resources will also provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers and contribute to testing, code reviews, problem-solving, and overall application quality.

Resources must be capable of working independently while collaborating with business analysts, stakeholders, QA teams, and technical specialists.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance responsive web applications using Oracle products, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Develop robust and scalable front-end interfaces and back-end application logic.
- Design and maintain relational database schemas and structures, including tables, views, indexes, and constraints.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to support application functionality, data integrity, and database performance.
- Perform database and application performance tuning and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Conduct application testing,



including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing where applicable.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, technical issues, and performance problems across the application stack.
- Prepare technical specifications, workflows, process documentation, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, QA teams, and technical specialists to gather requirements and deliver application solutions.
- Develop and support Business Intelligence dashboards, web applications, and mobile applications.
- For Level 2 resources, mentor junior developers through code reviews, problem-solving sessions, technical guidance, and training.
- Stay current with web and database development tools, technologies, trends, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience developing and maintaining web applications using Oracle products, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong front-end and back-end development experience.
- Experience designing and maintaining relational database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and constraints.
- Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
- Experience with Oracle or other relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Experience troubleshooting application defects, technical issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Experience developing responsive web applications.
- Experience preparing technical specifications, workflows, and process documentation.
- Experience collaborating with business analysts, stakeholders, QA teams, and other technical resources.
- Ability to work independently on assigned development and application support activities.




- Ability and willingness to work on-site five days per week in Petawawa, ON or Ottawa, ON.
- Availability during core hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

- Experience developing Business Intelligence dashboards.
- Experience developing mobile applications.
- Experience with unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Experience with database and application performance tuning.
- Experience mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews.
- Experience providing technical guidance or training to development teams.
- Previous experience supporting Government of Canada or other secure government environments.
- Experience working with applications or data subject to enhanced security/classification requirements.
- Familiarity with current web and database development tools, technologies, and best practices.

Compensation

Salary Range: $40.00 - $60.00 / hour
