Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Janitor and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone. In this position, you will be responsible for performing thorough cleaning and facilities maintenance across various areas, ensuring Positive Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, hygiene and safety are consistently met. Your proactive approach will help create a positive atmosphere that promotes productivity and well-being for all staff.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Conduct cleaning duties in, restrooms, hallways, and production/manufacturing areas with attention to detail.
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Follow established health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a hygienic environment at all times.
- Keep accurate records of cleaning activities, supply inventories, and checklists to support operational efficiency.
- Compliance with GMP Standards:
- Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure that all cleaning activities meet industry and regulatory standards as per GMP Practices.
- Maintain and complete accurate record keeping on all logs and documentation.
- Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and follow hygiene policies at all time while working.
- Dispose of waste, chemicals, and cleaning materials safely and store cleaning equipment and chemicals in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.

Skills

- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and cleaning protocols.
- Basic mechanical skills to disassemble and reassemble production equipment.
- Attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and sanitation.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail to identify and address quality issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with various departments and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.




- Possesses problem solving skills and sound professional judgement.

Safety and Compliance:

- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, respirators, and other safety gear.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or potential hazards to the supervisor immediately.

Equipment Maintenance:

- Perform routine maintenance/checks on washrack equipment, including cleaning filters, checking for leaks, and ensuring equipment operates at optimal efficiency.
- Report any damage or maintenance needs to the maintenance team or supervisor.

Additional/Other:

- As needed, participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Comply with all Company safety rules, Provincial and Federal rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

- Schedule: Full-time, 12 hour shift, on a continental schedule, rotating day/night shifts and weekends.
- Environment: The role involves working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to cleaning chemicals, water, and hot temperatures. PPE is provided and must be worn at all times.
- Physical Demands: This position involves standing for long periods, performing some repetitive tasks, and occasionally lifting/pushing/moving heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push, or pull objects up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a hot, humid, or damp environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling small tools and parts.

Qualifications:

- Education: Minimum High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred. Experience in a sanitizing role in a GMP-regulated facility is an asset.
- Experience: in Pharmaceutical or Nutraceutical manufacturing is considered an asset.
- Valid G driver's license.




- Police Record Check to be provided prior to employment.
