Totran Transportation Services is seeking a qualified and motivated Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Calgary team. As a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of tractors and trailers.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on tractors and trailers. Electrical systems Identify and resolve equipment issues involving speedometers, power steering, power dividers, U-joints, transmissions, rear ends, starters, alternators, APUs, air conditioning systems, and other truck components.

Complete repair orders, inspections, and maintenance documentation accurately and thoroughly. Utilize service manuals, bulletins, diagnostic software, and technical resources to identify problems and determine effective repair solutions. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to shop efficiency.

Work additional hours as required to support operational needs.





Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic

Certificate issued by the Government of Alberta and/or Red Seal Certification . Minimum 3 years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers preferred. Knowledge of truck, trailer, and equipment safety standards.

Experience with preventative maintenance programs and fleet maintenance practices. Working knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle inspections. Proficiency with computerized diagnostic equipment and maintenance software. Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Understanding of equipment storage and maintenance procedures.

Experience with recordkeeping and maintenance documentation systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple repair projects effectively. Stable, full-time employment with a growing transportation company. Modern fleet and well-equipped shop.
