Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman/Woman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and fire alarm systems across various industrial and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from recent construction to renovation and upgrades, utilizing your comprehensive electrical knowledge and hands-on skills to make a tangible impact.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately install and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment in industrial environments.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete electrical tasks with precision.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems during construction or renovation projects to ensure compliance with safety standards and code requirements.
- Diagnose electrical issues using schematics and troubleshooting techniques; repair low voltage systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate installation schedules and project timelines.
- Perform routine maintenance on existing electrical infrastructure to optimize performance and prevent future failures.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman/Woman Electrician license or certification recognized by local authorities.
- Proven experience working as an industrial electrician with a strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with construction projects, renovations, or facility upgrades involving electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics for low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and general electrical wiring diagrams.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, as well as power tools like drills and saws.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices for working in industrial environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently using diagnostic techniques.
- Additional handyman experience or general construction skills are a plus for versatile project support.
