We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Mechanical Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key member of our engineering team, receiving direct mentorship and instructions from our senior staff.

Responsibilities

- Engineering Design: Design building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and building automation under the guidance of senior staff.
- Field Surveying: Participate in site visits and field surveying to review existing building systems.
- Calculations & Selections: Produce engineering load calculations, equipment sizing, and component selection.
- Drafting & Modelling: Produce high-quality engineered drawings, details, and schematics.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs meet relevant building codes and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, site instructions, and field reports.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate project details with other engineering disciplines, clients, and stakeholders.
- Contract Administration: Assist with submittal reviews, field inspections, and systems testing and commissioning.

Qualifications




- Education: Recent graduate with a University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems, or a related discipline.
- Mindset: Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and possessing a robust willingness to learn and adapt.
- Transportation: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, owned vehicle for frequent travel to project sites.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting. Exposure to HVAC load calculations (HAP preferred) or energy modelling software is a strong asset.
- Software: Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills, excellent time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong English written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Professional Alignment: Eligible and actively working towards a P.Eng. or CET designation is preferred.
