ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER (KAM)
The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing and strengthening strategic client relationships while identifying opportunities for growth and service expansion. By understanding customer needs and coordinating internal resources, you will help deliver long-term value, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business success
DUTIES
Strategic Account Management & Market Growth (Revenue Growth):
- Actively cultivate, manage, and expand corporate partnerships with major midstream operators
- Identify, target, and position TPS for large-scale capital projects, recurring maintenance, and lifecycle asset management opportunities.
- Lead strategic, multi-tier relationship mapping within client organizations to engage decisionmakers from procurement and engineering to field operations and executive leadership.
- Create and present highly tailored, client-specific business cases, presentations, and complex commercial proposals.
- Represent Team Power Solutions at major regional industry conferences, trade shows, and corporate networking events to champion brand visibility and technical authority.
- Systematically track and manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools to provide accurate analytics, revenue forecasting, and market intelligence to senior leadership.
Retention of Current Clients (Revenue Certainty):
- Serve as the dedicated primary point of contact for strategic Saskatoon-based accounts, ensuring immediate response, technical accuracy, and exceptional service delivery.
- Conduct regular operational and executive-level reviews with current clients to gauge service satisfaction, anticipate future technical needs, and secure upselling/cross-selling opportunities.
- Protect and grow existing MSAs and long-term service contracts to ensure high revenue certainty.
- Proactively identify friction points or emerging client needs, coordinating cross-functional technical teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Active Outreach and Client Development:
- Lead proactive outreach and account development campaigns targeted at inactive divisions or new strategic assets within major pipeline networks.
- Formulate and deploy localized client-engagement plans to maintain a constant, influential presence among major Saskatoon-based energy infrastructure stakeholders.
Internal Collaboration:
- Represent and collaborate with all business units, including Training, Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing, and Electrical Services, to deliver integrated sales solutions.
- Partner across departments and regional offices to ensure alignment between sales efforts and service delivery.
- Provide valuable insights during sales meetings to refine strategies, drive growth, and enhance team performance.

- Expertise in identifying opportunities and implementing effective upselling and key account strategies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster and maintain solid relationships with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.

- Strong time management and organizational abilities to manage enterprise account priorities effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of core competencies and the company’s portfolio of offerings (Electrical, Automation, Manufacturing, Engineering, Training).
- High emotional intelligence, with self-awareness and the ability to understand and manage enterprise client dynamics.
- Proficient in using CRM software and customer data management tools to support strategic sales activities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Achieve assigned in-year revenue targets as outlined in midstream segment SMART goals.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of leads, corporate accounts, opportunities, and sales revenue within the CRM.
- Execute timely, relevant, and effective sales initiatives across strategic midstream accounts.
- Develop and monitor sales metrics to assess the performance of key accounts, ensuring timely data collection and analysis.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships with key internal teams to drive collaborative proposal and sales success.
- Proactively identify and resolve major client challenges using innovative, results-driven solutions.
JOB SCOPE
- Leverage industry knowledge, midstream expertise, and strong communication skills to build and maintain a robust customer network, driving new business opportunities and nurturing strategic client relationships.
- Develop and implement innovative sales and key account strategies to accelerate growth and enhance enterprise client satisfaction.
- Independently prepare detailed reports, Master Service Agreement (MSA) proposals, and complex submissions that accurately reflect client technical needs and expectations.
- Apply creative problem-solving to navigate diverse commercial situations, address account challenges, and deliver effective, client-focused solutions.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning that strengthens TPS’s market presence, reputation, and overall business growth in the Saskatoon region.
EFFORT
This role leverages deep pipeline industry knowledge, technical-commercial expertise,
and elite communication skills to address complex customer needs and provide strategic guidance to both key accounts and internal teams. It involves heavy collaboration with a diverse group of stakeholders, including executive leadership, procurement managers, operations colleagues, and engineering heads. Success depends entirely on the ability to build and maintain trust-based, long-term partnerships.
The work pace is highly dynamic and deadline-driven, requiring excellent prioritization, quick adaptability, and creative structuring of solutions under uncertain conditions. Attention to detail and continuous strategic focus are paramount to successfully managing multi-million-dollar portfolios.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Position is based out of Saskatoon, SK requiring a consistent presence at client corporate offices and local industry events.
- Requires regular travel within the designated region and to operational sites/assets (approximately 30-40% of the time).
- Hours outside of normal business hours are necessary to network with corporate prospects, host clients, attend technical reviews, and participate in industry networking events.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education in sales, marketing, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry technical experience.
- Minimum of five years of related experience in sales, account management, or business development within the industrial/energy sector (experience as a technologist, electrician, or engineer may substitute).
- Deep, demonstrable experience navigating and winning business within major midstream operators
- Pipeline Industry experience is highly preferred/required for this role.
- Commitment to continuous learning, including professional development initiatives to enhance skills and industry knowledge.
