Company Description

Welfare Avenue is a non-profit based in Montreal and Toronto, with plans to expand into Vancouver, Ottawa, and Calgary over the next three years. Welfare Avenue has only volunteer staff and has multiple programs in development, but currently serves free biweekly meals at a local park in Montreal. While in Toronto, Welfare Avenue serves monthly free meals at a Toronto homeless shelter.

Role Description In Montreal, Welfare Avenue is looking for a volunteer kitchen coordinator to help guide our general volunteers in preparing meals when we cook for those in need at our partnered commerical kitchen. The volunteer kitchen coordinator would need to be available 8-12 hours a month to help us with our Montreal operations. These events would also take place on Sunday mornings, and the kitchen coordinator would also need to attend the Montreal team meetings each month.

Qualifications

MAPAQ certification is required, and experience in the kitchen is preferred but not required.
