Working from your home office and reporting to the Surface Land Manager, you are joining a thriving team of the best. Responsibilites
- Complete or support QA/QC reviews of land files, agreements, and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with the team to complete acquisitions of Surface Rights on Crown and Freehold lands, including preparation of Crown applications, coordination of OneStop submissions, and drafting Freehold agreements.
- Initiate First Nations Consultation and engage the Community & Indigenous Affairs advisor.
- Analyze and interpret land documentation such as leases, agreements, and survey plans.
- Prepare and assess land acquisition packages, ensuring all regulatory requirements have been met.
- Process incoming third-party agreements.
- Register and discharge instruments and encumbrances on title.
- Administer requirements for public consultation and notification.
- Input and maintain file information in Pandell.
- Collaborate with responsible teams to revise files and systems for operational changes, acquisitions, and swaps.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure maintenance and obligations for Freehold and Crown lands are completed, including lease renewals, final plan requirements, and submissions regarding no entry.
- Create and analyze reports from various systems pertaining to rights-of-way, leases, and related interests.
- Gather and analyze data for contract obligation and lease obligation reports.
Qualifications
- Experience or education related to surface land acquisition and administration. We welcome applications from junior, intermediate, and senior analysts.
- Experience with both Freehold and Crown land matters is preferred; experience in Alberta and Saskatchewan is a nice to have.
- Post-secondary education in Surface Land Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
- A disciplined work ethic and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong computer skills. Experience with Abadata, Microsoft Office, OneStop, AMS, IRIS, ISC, SPIN2, or similar systems is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, complete work.
- A willingness to take on new tasks and challenges.
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, responsible AI tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Alberta and/or Saskatchewan Commissioner for Oaths status is an asset, or a willingness and ability to obtain it if required.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel may be required for projects or to attend events. Additional travel may be necessary for seminars, training, or visits to alternate locations.
