:
Reporting to Director of Lands, the Lands and Property Administrator supports the Lands department with administrative and technical support by maintaining land records, coordinating land transactions, managing legal documentation, supporting property and strata administration, and assisting with the day-to-day management of reserve and off-reserve lands. This position plays a key role in ensuring Shuswap Band's land interests, leases, property files, and legal records are accurate, organized, and maintained in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, and Council direction.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain land, lease, property, and legal records for reserve and off-reserve properties.
· Support land transactions, including Certificates of Possession, leases, permits, licences, and conveyancing activities.
· Prepare correspondence, agreements, reports, and other land-related documentation.
· Coordinate property maintenance, renovations, contractors, and service providers.
· Assist with the administration of Band-owned properties and strata units.
· Respond to member inquiries and provide support with land-related applications and processes.
· Coordinate meetings, agendas, minutes, and community engagement activities.
· Process invoices, maintain records, and support departmental budgets and reporting.
Qualifications:
· Diploma or Certificate in Lands Administration, Business Administration, Legal Administration, Real Estate, Office Administration, or a related field.
· 2-4 years of experience working with Indigenous organizations and/or communities.
· 2-3 years of experience in administration, lands administration, property management, conveyancing, legal documentation, or real estate transactions.
· Knowledge of reserve land administration, Certificates of Possession, leases, permits, and other land interests.
· Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills with attention to detail.
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
· Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence and satisfactory driving record.
· Successful Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Assets
· Experience with strata administration or commercial property management.
· Project Management certification.
· Knowledge of Indigenous governance, lands administration, and community engagement.
