Role Description The Landscape Construction Foreman is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON. As a Foreman, you will be in charge of projects from start to finish, taking full ownership of day-to-day construction activities on residential and commercial landscaping builds. Your primary focus will be running the crew efficiently and ensuring that projects are completed on schedule to meet estimated dates.

The bulk of the daily work will revolve around excavation, backfilling, grading, installing pavers, and building retaining walls. You will coordinate materials, assign tasks, monitor quality, troubleshoot on-site issues, and maintain clear communication with clients, crew members, and management. You will also be expected to read and interpret drawings, enforce safety standards, and mentor team members to maintain our high standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Project Management: Take ownership of landscaping projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently,



and strictly aligns with estimated project timelines.
- Crew Leadership: Direct and run the crew on a daily basis, maximizing efficiency, assigning tasks, and keeping the team motivated and on track.
- Core Construction: Execute and oversee the bulk of the physical site work, specifically focusing on excavation, backfilling, grading, paver installation, and retaining wall construction.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy machinery, including skid steers and other heavy-duty landscape equipment.
- Site Coordination: Coordinate materials and equipment deliveries, track project progress, and report on timelines to management.

Qualifications
- Experience: Approximately 5 years of hands-on experience in construction and landscaping.
- Heavy Machinery: Proven ability and experience operating heavy machinery, specifically skid steers and similar equipment.
- Leadership: Strong ability to run a crew efficiently, manage schedules, and keep projects on time to meet deadlines.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of landscape design principles, with the ability to interpret plans, layouts, and construction drawings.
- Safety & Physicality: Robust commitment to workplace safety standards and the physical ability to perform outdoor, manual work in various weather conditions.
- Assets (Nice-to-Haves): Experience with installing sod, planting, or building decks and fences is highly valued and considered a strong asset.
- Requirements: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
