The Lead Architect, HCM Transformation (Dayforce) will serve as the technical and solution architecture lead for Kinark's Human Capital Management transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade Dayforce solutions that support People &
- Culture (P&C;), Payroll, Workforce Management, Talent, and Analytics functions.
The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in Dayforce HCM architecture, enterprise integrations, data migration, process automation, and workforce technology transformation. They will partner closely with P&C; leaders, Payroll teams, IT stakeholders, and implementation partners to translate complex business requirements into future-state Dayforce solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance employee experience, and support organizational growth.
The Lead Architect will provide strategic and technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle, including discovery, solution design, configuration governance, integrations, data conversion, testing, deployment, and post-implementation optimization.
This role will have a direct reporting line into the P&C; HCM Implementation Business Lead and a dotted line into the Director of IT.
This role is assessed as a Remote position requiring minimal days in the office (0-1 days per week) unless business demands require otherwise.
The hourly pay range for this position is $44/hr to $60/hr CAD.
Areas of Direct Responsibility
Solution Architecture &
- Dayforce Design
- Serve as the lead technical architect for Dayforce HCM and associated workforce technologies.
- Translate complex current-state and future-state P&C; business requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable Dayforce solution architectures.
- Design and govern enterprise HCM architecture across Core HR, Payroll, Workforce Management (WFM), Benefits, Talent Management, and Analytics.
- Develop highly scalable and flexible Dayforce configurations that accommodate business growth, regulatory change, organizational restructuring, and evolving workforce strategies without requiring extensive system redesign.
- Define architectural standards, integration patterns, and governance frameworks for Dayforce implementations and enhancements.
Process Transformation &
- Automation
- Analyze existing HR, Payroll, and Workforce Management processes to identify manual bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation.
- Translate complex P&C; processes into seamless native Dayforce workflows, automations, business rules, and approvals.
- Design automated employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, job changes, compensation events,
leave management, offboarding, and workforce scheduling.
- Recommend and implement best-practice Dayforce capabilities that increase operational efficiency while reducing administrative effort.
Discovery &
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead technical discovery workshops and architecture sessions with P&C; stakeholders, business leaders, Payroll teams, and functional subject matter experts.
- Translate organizational objectives into future-state operating models and technology roadmaps.
- Partner with P&C; leaders to align Dayforce capabilities with corporate hiring, compensation, workforce planning, talent retention, and employee experience strategies.
- Provide architectural guidance and solution recommendations to executive sponsors and project stakeholders.
Integrations &
- Data Management
- Oversee the design and implementation of Dayforce integrations, APIs, middleware workflows, and third-party system connections.
- Lead the extraction, mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation, and migration of legacy HR, Payroll, and workforce data from siloed systems into Dayforce.
- Define data governance, data quality, and integration standards to ensure accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with technical teams and vendors to design REST API, file-based, and middleware-based integrations.
Program Delivery &
- Governance
- Lead technical activities throughout implementation projects, including requirements analysis, solution design, configuration reviews, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Partner with the Project Manager, HCM Transformation to manage deployment phases, project dependencies, and risk mitigation activities.
- Review solution deliverables to ensure alignment with business requirements, security standards, architectural principles, and Dayforce best practices.
- Support Agile and traditional SDLC delivery approaches while maintaining quality and governance standards.
Leadership
- Provide architectural leadership and mentorship to implementation teams, analysts, and technical resources.
- Establish solution design standards and implementation best practices.
- Ensure long-term maintainability, scalability, and supportability of the HCM ecosystem.
- Stay current with Dayforce product innovations,
workforce technology trends, compliance changes, and emerging best practices.

Qualifications
Education
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
- Dayforce Certifications are strongly preferred.
- Relevant architecture, integrations, project management, or cloud certifications are considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of HCM implementation experience, including enterprise-scale HRIS transformation initiatives.
- Minimum 4+ years acting as a Lead Architect specifically for Dayforce HCM implementations.
- Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise HCM deployments from discovery through production support.

- Extensive experience designing Dayforce business processes, workflows, security models, and integrations.
- Strong experience with data migration, data conversion, and enterprise application integration projects.
- Demonstrated success delivering solutions within Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and traditional SDLC environments.
Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of Dayforce HCM architecture and configuration.
- Advanced proficiency with:

- Experience designing and supporting system integrations across HR, Payroll, Finance, Identity Management, Benefits, and third-party vendors.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, reporting, analytics, and workforce data governance.
- Knowledge of cloud-based enterprise application architectures and integration patterns.
