Position Summary The Lead Restoration Technician is a hands-on working leader responsible for helping coordinate and complete emergency mitigation and restoration services.

The Lead

Technician directs and supports technicians and labourers while working alongside the crew, and helps ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with company procedures and recognized industry standards. This position requires sound judgment, initiative, quality workmanship, accurate documentation, and professional communication with customers, coworkers, subcontractors, adjusters, and other project stakeholders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Project Execution and Technical Work

- Respond to residential and commercial property-damage emergencies involving water, fire, smoke, mould, biohazard, contents, and other loss conditions.
- Lead and participate in water extraction, structural drying, selective demolition, cleaning, deodorization,

mould remediation, fire and smoke restoration, contents handling, and related restoration activities.
- Review the assigned scope with the Project Manager and organize the crew, equipment, materials, and daily site activities.




- Conduct initial and ongoing site inspections as assigned; identify visible damage, safety concerns, hazards, and possible changes in scope.
- Take and record moisture readings; set up, monitor, maintain, and remove drying, extraction, air-filtration,

and other restoration equipment.
- Protect unaffected areas and customer belongings, and leave each jobsite clean, orderly, and secure.

Crew Leadership and Quality Control
- Provide clear daily direction to technicians and labourers while working alongside the crew.
- Lead by example and reinforce safe work practices, productivity, quality workmanship, teamwork, and professional conduct.
- Help train and develop technicians, provide practical coaching, and promptly address or report performance and safety concerns.
- Inspect completed work and confirm that company quality standards and the authorized scope have been met before leaving the site.
- Work with the Project Manager and office team to keep the crew unified, informed, and efficient.

Customer Service, Communication, and Documentation
- Meet with customers, explain the restoration process, and represent the PuroClean brand with empathy,

professionalism, and respect.
- Communicate clearly with the office, Project Manager, customers, coworkers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Take clear photographs and complete accurate daily notes, moisture records, equipment logs, work authorizations, and other required job documentation.
- Promptly report unexpected conditions, additional damage, scope changes, access issues, delays, customer concerns, or safety issues to management.
- Do not make unauthorized commitments regarding insurance coverage, pricing, project scope, or completion dates.

Vehicles, Equipment, and Operational Support
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, products, and facilities in a clean, organized, secure, and ready-to-use condition.




- Complete routine equipment checks and report damage, maintenance needs, or supply shortages promptly.
- Follow company uniform, safety, operational, and brand-identity requirements.
- Assist with warehouse organization, vehicle readiness, inventory, deliveries, cleaning, and other operational needs.
- Participate in rotating after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency response as scheduled or required.

Qualifications

- Minimum two years of relevant field experience in property restoration, construction, remediation, demolition, or a related trade.
- IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification required; additional IICRC certifications are assets.
- Previous crew-lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to safely operate company vehicles; an acceptable driving record is required.
- Strong customer-service, leadership, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to use a smartphone or tablet and accurately complete electronic job documentation.
- Commitment to continued learning, professional development, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and remain calm in urgent or emotionally sensitive situations.

Physical and Working Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry at least 75 lb and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb, and work on ladders or in confined areas as required.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, personal protective equipment, and restoration equipment.
- Comfort working in environments that may be wet, dirty, dusty, hot, cold, odorous, or affected by contaminants.
- Ability to work occasional extended hours and participate in a rotating evening and weekend on-call schedule.
- Ability to travel throughout Windsor-Essex County and occasionally outside the regular service area.
