Position Summary The Youth Housing Program provides trauma-informed, developmentally responsive care for youth, aged 13–17, with complex needs. As a Lead Youth Worker, you support youth safety, well-being, and development through individualized care, relational practice, and case management. You work collaboratively with their Care Team to promote spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental wellness, life skills, and meaningful family involvement, while ensuring high-quality case management and planning for a successful transition to young adulthood.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure youth safety, wellness, and skill development through risk management, de-escalation, and daily routines that support physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental health.
- Build trusting, strength-based relationships with youth using active listening and relational practice to create safe and supportive spaces.
- Collaborate with youth and Care Teams to develop and implement Individualized Care Plans, supporting goal setting and engagement in meaningful activities.
- Lead, coach, and direct Youth Workers and Support Workers to provide coordinated, trauma-informed care, including supervision, medication administration, and crisis response.
- Maintain accurate case management documentation, electronic and paper files, and consistent communication with families and Care Teams.
- Oversee home environment safety and cleanliness,



including move-in preparation, perimeter checks, and ensuring a supportive living space.
- Foster positive community and family engagement, building collaborative relationships with families, natural supports, and community partners.

Qualifications

Education

- Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care (CYC), Social Work, Human Services, or related field.

Certification
- Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Suicide Intervention
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle
- Proof of vehicle insurance (min. $2 million liability), registration and 3-year drivers abstract.

Experience
- 3+ years’ experience supporting marginalized youth and vulnerable populations
- 1+ years’ experience managing youth case files and supporting individualized care plans.
- Knowledge and experience in harm reduction, trauma-informed, resiliency, and solution-focused practices.
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, capable of remaining calm in high-pressure situations.
- Experience supporting youth facing complex barriers, including mental health, substance use, poverty, trauma, LGBTQ2S+ identities, and newcomer/refugee experiences
- Proficient in MS Office and database applications.
