Role Description
Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for:
- negotiate freight rates with outside carriers
- plan carriers on best routes to maximize on time delivery and gross profit
- tracking and tracing planned pick ups at shipping locations
- tracking and tracing carriers in transit and planned for daily delivery
- request delivery appointments with receivers
- advise carrier contact of delivery information (Deliver # and confirmed date/time)
- adjust delivery appointments based on ETA of carriers on route, when required
- update internal and external operating systems, Windows based (user friendly)
- update customers of daily tracing results
- highlight any potential service failures and make alternate plan
- print and send confirmations as required to carrier contacts
- answer queries on location and ETA as requested by receiver/customer
This is a full time on-site position.
Work Schedule
This position primarily operates during normal business hours; however, occasional work outside of regular business hours may be required to support operational needs, including periodic monitoring and response to time-sensitive issues.
Qualifications
- 3+ Years of Transportation experience (required)
- 5+ Years Logistics experience (preferred)
- Secondary School (preferred)
