LOGISTICS MANAGER JBS FOOD CANADA ULC With approximately 3300 employees JBS Food Canada ULC JBS Canada is one of Canadas largest beef processors Consisting of four locationsthe main processing facility located in Brooks Alberta where approximately 4200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant both based in Calgary Alberta; and JBS Ontario a case ready plant located in Belleville Ontario The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals ground beef beef trimmings beef by products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide At the multi protein Mountain Creek Farms case ready facility in Calgary JBS Canada produces value added products including marinated portion sized multi pack options kebabs and much more JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada We are currently seeking a Logistics Manager to lead the logistics and transportation requirements for all JBS Canada products You will coordinate with vendors to manage logistics activities to meet service level expectations This role will work closely with JBSs freight providers and internal teams to maintain a reliable and scalable logistics operation that functions on an international scale With an understanding of North American transportation and trade compliance you will make sure that JBS can provide a predictable delivery experience for all shipments This role will also serve as the trade compliance subject matter expert providing support related to all logistics activities ensuring JBSs compliance with applicable laws regulations and best practices The ideal candidate is one who sees challenges as opportunities has a keen eye for detail and brings a wealth of enthusiasm and knowledge to the table You are passionate about transportation and look for opportunities to establish new processes and procedures You thrive in a fast paced constantly changing environment You have a talent for managing and developing a staff of high performing employees POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the organizations Performance Improvement plan and Operational Efficiency initiatives; ensuring a data driven and results oriented approach that supports successful execution of company strategic objectivesProvide leadership for direct reports that both maximize and optimize resources in support of the companys goals and objectives in serving customersEnsure that performance goals are set and achieved through the proper execution of performance metrics as it relates to Productivity Safety Quality and Customer ServiceOversee the development and management of carrier contracts negotiations and relationships to provide industry leading competitive rates programs and exceptional customer serviceResolve internal problems or complaints and problems or complaints with carrierscustomersPlan examine analyze and evaluate day to day operations in respect to supporting procedures quality standards and customer expectationsEnsure quality shipment data from origin to end deliveryDevelop and oversee JBS policies systems and procedures necessary to support cost reduction and system utilization goals KPIsDevelop and maintain KPIs for quality quantity shipments inventory delivery times transportation costs and efficiencyManage expense to budget and forecastParticipate in and support business reviews with service providers; drive corrective actions if necessary based on performanceReview and research with recent and existing transportation vendors; programs to reduce replace and improve upon transportation costs POSITION REQUIREMENTS A Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Logistics or another related field preferred8 plus years of experience in Logistics; at least 5 years of team leadership experienceExperience with perishable goodsKnowledge of SAP or similar ERP system preferredA proven track record in developing new processes and bringing about change and improvement without major disruption to the businessStrong people management and supervisory skillsStrong analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel;
