Reporting to the Underground Mine Supervisor, the successful candidate will work a 14 &14 rotation and be responsible for operating equipment and managing materials within their assigned work areas.

About The Candidate

Physically fit and capable of performing demanding work in underground mining conditions.
Underground Common Core Modules will be considered an asset.
Three (3) or more years of experience operating long-hole drilling equipment in an underground mining setting is preferred.
About The Role The Long Hole Driller is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mechanized long-hole drilling equipment in an underground mining environment.
This role includes conducting pre-operational inspections, maintaining drilling equipment in optimal working condition, changing drill rods, accurately drilling production blast holes to engineering specifications, and safely relocating drilling equipment within the mine.
Working closely with mine operations and engineering teams, the incumbent is accountable for achieving production targets while adhering to all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines
- Underground drill site set up
- Scaling and pre-operation inspection
- Inserting and pulling rods
- Conduct drilling as per the long hole drill design as provided by the engineering department using sound drilling practices and techniques
- Carry out operational maintenance
- Maintain accurate operating records, including daily drill reports and inventory logs
- Other duties as assigned
