Ag-Quest, is looking for a full-time, permanent Maintenance and Mechanic to join our team in the Taber

Qualifications:

- Must have a Valid Class 5 Driver’s license or higher class and proof of clean driving extract.
- Must have Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency status
- Experience with farm equipment maintenance and repair, including small engines.
- Previous experience in agriculture and/or agricultural equipment is a strong asset.
- Previous experience of welding and/or fabricating is a strong asset.

Maintenance and Mechanic : As a Mechanic on Station, you will be responsible for maintenance and repair of plot equipment, trucks, and trailers as well as Ag-Quest buildings. You will also be responsible for operation and maintenance of the pivoting lateral irrigation at the Station and other duties as assigned.





You may be responsible for establishment and maintenance of the commercial crop or may be responsible for cooperating with an outside custom operator on commercial crop management. You may also be involved in the marketing of commercial crop produced at the station if necessary.

You will need to keep written and/or computerized records of equipment maintenance and cropping activities. As the Mechanic, you must be able to prioritize repairs based on field activities with input from Station Manager and Research Associates. You will report to the Station Manager and collaborate with all the Research Associates as needed.

You will be required to work outdoors, operate small plot equipment and full size farm equipment, and drive trucks and trailers. Communication and cooperation with other research personnel is essential to ensure all programs at the station are completed successfully. Extended work hours will be required during peak seasons.

The winter season will be dedicated to facility and equipment maintenance and assisting with other programs to contribute to the overall success of the company. Some travel may be required.
