MacQueen Systems builds and services homes across the Fraser Valley, from Langley to Boston Bar. Our Service & Maintenance division looks after everything that comes after a build is finished: warranty items, deficiency lists, small repairs, and the odd jobs our clients call us about because they trust us to do it right.

WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY IS

You will spend your days moving between clients' homes, handling small jobs on your own. A sticking door in Chilliwack in the morning. A drywall patch and paint touch-up in Langley after lunch. A deficiency list to close out on a recently finished build in Abbotsford before the end of the week.

Most of it is carpentry and finishing work. Some of it is diagnosis: figuring out why a floor is cupping or where water is getting in, then deciding whether you fix it yourself or whether we bring in a plumber, a roofer, or an HVAC tech. Knowing the difference is a big part of this job.

You will manage your own daily schedule inside the priorities your manager sets, keep your own notes and photos in Buildertrend (our project software, training provided), and talk directly with clients about what you found and what you are doing about it.

WHO THIS SUITS

This role is built for someone who works independently. There is no foreman standing behind you. You get a list, a vehicle, and the authority to make calls in the field.

- Fix things without needing to be told how
- Show up when they said they would, and call ahead when they cannot
- Keep a clean, tidy worksite in somebody's living room and leave it better than they found it




- Notice the small stuff. The reveal that is off by an eighth. The caulking line that is not straight. The thing the client has not mentioned yet but will.
- Are comfortable telling a homeowner "that one is outside what I can do today, and here is what happens next"
- Are resourceful. Store is closed, part is on backorder, and they still find a way forward.
- Plan their week instead of reacting to it

WHAT YOU NEED

- Five or more years of hands-on residential construction, renovation, or service experience. Broad beats deep here.
- Working knowledge across carpentry, drywall, finishing, doors and hardware, and basic plumbing and electrical fixture work
- A valid BC driver's licence and a clean driving record
- The ability to work in occupied homes in a professional, respectful way
- Solid written communication. You will be writing service notes that both clients and our office read.

A Red Seal or trade ticket is a bonus, not a requirement. We care more about what you can actually do.

Pay: $28.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
