About the Oakville Club

Established in 1907, The Oakville Club is a private members club serving close to 1,800 members, including families whose connection to the Club spans multiple generations.

We're looking for a dependable, hands-on and service-oriented Maintenance & Facilities Team Member to help maintain our facilities, grounds, waterfront and recreational amenities while providing friendly assistance to our members and guests.

This is a varied role where responsibilities change with the seasons. If you enjoy hands-on work, working both indoors and outdoors, and having something different to do each day, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Do

- Perform general maintenance, minor repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the Club.
- Help keep Club facilities, washrooms, change rooms and common areas clean, organized, safe and well presented.
- Assist with room and event setups, including moving tables, chairs, equipment and supplies.
- Identify maintenance concerns, damage and potential safety hazards.
- Replenish towels, supplies and other member amenities.
- Assist with landscaping, grass cutting, grounds maintenance and seasonal property cleanup.
- Assist with snow and ice clearing during the winter months.
- Safely use basic hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
- Work independently when required while also contributing as part of a team.
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to members and guests.

Seasonal, Waterfront & Recreational Duties During boating season (May 1 – October 31) and busy spring/summer months, responsibilities also include:

- Assisting with the seasonal setup, maintenance, minor repair, cleaning and winter shutdown of the Club's docks and waterfront areas.
- Helping members and guests with kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and canoes — launching, returning and organizing equipment and PFDs.
- Assisting boaters with operation of the Club's marine pump-out station after appropriate training.
- Assisting with pool maintenance, including cleaning, basic equipment checks,



water testing when trained, towel stations and seasonal opening/closing.
- Performing regular tennis court maintenance, including court preparation and cleaning, debris and standing-water removal, and upkeep of nets, posts, windscreens and surrounding areas.
- Assisting with the setup, maintenance and storage of outdoor furniture and recreational equipment.
- Helping ensure all waterfront, pool, tennis and recreational areas are safe, clean and ready for member use.

Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, hotels, private clubs, school boards, recreational facilities, groundskeeping, pool operations or commercial cleaning is an asset, but not required. We are willing to train the right person who brings a solid work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn. Qualifications & Assets

- Valid driver's licence.
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC / boating licence).
- Pool Operator certification/card or equivalent training.
- Previous boating, marina, waterfront or pool experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using maintenance tools and equipment.





A satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check will be required as a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements

This is an active position. Candidates must be comfortable:

- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling.
- Moving furniture, equipment and supplies.
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Working around pools, docks, boats and waterfront areas.
- Using ladders, hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment after appropriate training.

Schedule Permanent, part-time position averaging approximately 30 hours per week. Most shifts are approximately 8 hours, although 6-hour shifts may also be available.

The Club operates seven days a week. We are currently primarily looking for afternoon/evening availability during the week and availability on weekends. Weekend and statutory holiday availability is required. Additional hours may be available during our busy spring and summer seasons.

Compensation & Perks

- Starting at $19.00/hour, with a higher starting wage considered for candidates with relevant experience, qualifications or certifications.
