Role

Identifying, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and machinery. Establishing and conducting preventative maintenance on all equipment and machinery and to carry out a wide variety of facility maintenance activities, under supervision and guidance. Contribute to problem solving and decision-making activities relating to maintenance operations

Responsibilities:

- Identifying and diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery and equipment problems with proven ability
- Conducting minor repairs to mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery and equipment within the proven ability
- Performing repairs in conformance with established standards
- Performing preventative and general maintenance of facilities and production equipment
- Performing facilities construction and repair tasks such as painting, carpentry, sheet metal fabrication and drywall
- Resolving problems using appropriate equipment and procedures
- Ensuring all safety and equipment handling regulations are adhered to
- Understanding the electrical aspects of the equipment or facilities to keep one’s self secure and assist with problem identification
- Consistently contribute to problem solving and decision-making activities relating to maintenance operations while maintaining a high level of safety, quality and customer service.
- Complying with the Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety regulations
- Taking reasonable care to protect oneself and others who may be affected by their actions or omissions
- Using all devices,



clothing and personal protective equipment designated by PTI and by the regulations
- Cooperating with the workplace safety and health committee or representative
- Cooperating with other persons regarding workplace safety and health matters
- Performing according to company’s certified ISO standards

Education /Experience/ Knowledge/ Skills: Minimum Grade 12 Education or equivalent combination of education and experience

Post-secondary education in related field would be an asset

Valid 5F driver’s license

Working knowledge of hand and power tool use

- 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
- Mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic spare parts; wood and metal
- Various hand, power, bench mounted tools, measuring and testing gauges and devices.
- Forklift, hoist, overhead crane, welder
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to work in both metric and imperial dimensions
- Basic mathematics knowledge. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
