About us:
Anokiigamig Construction LP is a Indigenous-owned company that operates and manages Atkinson Road Camp in partnership with Coeur Mining. This premier gold mine camp accommodates up to 523 guests, with plans to expand by adding an additional 30 rooms. This position offers 14 days on, 14 days off or 7 days on, 7 days off.
Summary The Maintenance position will plan, direct, and procure maintenance services, as required, to ensure that the Atkinson Road camp operates as intended, with minimum disruption to day to day operations. The Maintenance position will undertake, or arrange for all required repairs, as well as, maintenance to structural, mechanical and electrical systems in the facility. The Maintenance position will undertake regular inspections, will use our preventative maintenance program, and assist with snow removal, and landscaping from time to time.
The Maintenance Position will comply with camp policy and procedure at all times. From time to time, the Maintenance Position will provide recommendations regarding improvements to procedures as they relate to the camp maintenance program.
Accountability
Work will be performed independently under the direction of the Facility Manager, Assistant Camp Manager, Maintenance Supervisor as required and Camp Manager (or in their absence the General Partner of Anokiigamig Construction LP). The Maintenance Position will be responsible to comply with established policies and procedures at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Performs the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the Camp’s equipment, vehicles, buildings, water and sewer system, machinery, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
· Uses the camp’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) daily to track assets, log and report issues, and help ensure the camp is running smoothly.
· Develops and maintains schedules for regular safety inspections
· Complies with camp policy and procedure in undertaking duties.
· Co-ordinates landscaping, refuse, and recycling; assists with snow removal from time to time.
· Oversee other part time or temporary staff regarding maintenance duties.
· Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, oversees contractors in performing maintenance and repairs on camp facilities including plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical, and cleaning duties.
· Keeps accurate, up-to-date maintenance records, and maintains a daily log of camp activities, provides to Camp Manager, Maintenance Manager and Facility Manager.
· Ensures, at all times that work is performed according to safe work practices in accordance with Policy and Procedure, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
· Documents any safety issues, or concerns, and reports to Camp Management, as soon as possible. Where possible, takes corrective action to remove safety hazards.
· Where required, obtains quotations for procurement of various services and products for review by Camp Management
· Other duties as assigned by the Camp Manager.
Education and Experience
· Ontario Secondary School Diploma, completion of Secondary School, or Equivalent.
· Experience with carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
· Knowledge and understanding of First Nation culture.
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail applications, and internet use.
· Experience working with contractors and oversight of staff.
· High level of integrity,
well organized and detail oriented
· Excellent English proficiency in particular speaking and writing
· Valid Driver’s License, and ability to travel
· WHMIS, First Aid, Working at heights required,
· Willing to take technical training including but not limited to Water and Sewage operation,
· Certified Gasfitter 2 (Ontario) with an Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) card considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes
· Knowledge of mechanical systems, carpentry, plumbing, building construction, and electrical workings of the camp.
· Knowledge of maintenance requirements.
· Knowledge of procurement, and contract administration.
· Knowledge of Health and Safety laws and regulations.
· Knowledge of overseeing contractors, under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, and ability to supervise the work of others.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors, and guests.
· Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment.
· Ability to undertake basic carpentry, and basic equipment repairs.
· Ability to work independently, and implement maintenance plan.
· Ability to use computers including a basic understanding of office software, e-mail, and internet.

· Must be able to work flexible hours and reside onsite at camp as the position requires.
· Comply with established policies and procedures and create a positive workplace at the camp.
