The Job: Manager, Fraud Strategy The Manager, Fraud Strategy- is a hands-on leader responsible for designing and executing fraud prevention strategies across Momentum Financial Services Group's consumer lending products. This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with deep technical execution., operating directly in the data to drive decisions.

How You'll Make an Impact: Design and optimize fraud prevention strategies across the loan application, adjudication, and origination lifecycle ,



ensuring effective risk controls while maintaining a seamless customer experience.

Develop and implement controls to identify and prevent application fraud, identity theft, synthetic identity fraud, and first-party fraud within consumer lending products.

Partner closely with Credit Risk and Operations teams to enhance fraud detection and decisioning strategies throughout the customer application and adjudication process.

Monitor fraud performance across lending funnels and adjudication workflows, using data insights to improve approval quality and minimize fraud losses.

Leverage advanced analytics, fraud solutions, and business acumen to identify emerging fraud trends, mitigate losses, and balance customer experience with risk control.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with Credit Risk, Product, Ops, and IT to implement, monitor, and refine fraud strategies.

Partner with external fraud prevention vendors, supporting tool evaluation and performance monitoring.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Deliver clear and actionable insights, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Leadership & Team Development Foster continuous improvement and professional growth by sharing expertise, strengthening analytical capabilities, and supporting team development.

What You Bring: Proven experience designing and executing fraud strategies within consumer lending, fintech, banking, or credit products , with direct exposure to application fraud, adjudication, loan origination, and customer acquisition fraud.

Understanding of the consumer lending lifecycle , including customer application flows, identity verification, underwriting support processes, adjudication frameworks, and funding controls.

Experience balancing fraud controls with approval rates, customer experience, and portfolio performance throughout the lending journey.

Strong, hands-on SQL expertise—able to build queries from scratch and work independently in raw data (critical)

Strong judgment to balance fraud risk, customer experience, and business outcomes

Comfort working closely with data, technology, and cross-functional teams

Must have good business judgment with demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically.





Proficient in SQL programming skills and experienced with data visualization platforms such as Sigma and Tableau

Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, providing thought leadership and mentorship to team members.

Aptitude and willingness to roll-up the sleeves and get involved in the details.

Education + Experience 5+ years of experience in fraud risk management with a focus on application fraud, origination fraud, adjudication strategy, and fraud prevention solutions within consumer lending, fintech, banking, or e-commerce environments.

Proven track record developing fraud strategies that support loan application, adjudication, underwriting, and funding processes while mitigating fraud losses.

Experience working within U.S. consumer lending organizations and supporting unsecured lending, installment loans, line of credit products, or other credit-based offerings is highly preferred.

Please note: The salary range for this position is between C$ 85,000 - C$ 130,000.
