Step Up Autism Academy is seeking an experienced, passionate, and results-oriented Managing Director to lead the day-to-day operations and continued growth of our autism and developmental services centre.

The Managing Director will oversee operations, clinical program coordination, staff management, family experience, quality improvement, business development, and community partnerships. The ideal candidate is an organized and confident leader who understands autism services and is committed to providing high-quality, family-centred care.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Leadership

- Oversee the daily operations of the autism centre.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure the centre operates efficiently, professionally, and safely.
- Manage schedules, staffing levels, resources, and facility needs.
- Establish performance goals and monitor operational results.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and client experience.

Staff Management
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain qualified staff.
- Supervise administrative and operational team members.
- Support coordination of ABA therapists, OTs, SLPs, educators, tutors, and other service providers.
- Organize staff meetings, training, and professional development.
- Address staffing concerns and performance issues professionally.
- Build a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture.

Program & Service Coordination
- Support the development and growth of autism programs, including:
- ABA therapy
- Speech-language services
- Occupational therapy
- Academic programs
- After-school programs
- Parent support and education




- Coordinate multidisciplinary services and communication between professionals.
- Monitor client scheduling, attendance, service delivery, and family satisfaction.
- Work with clinical leaders to support quality and consistency of services.

Family & Community Relations
- Maintain solid relationships with children, parents, and caregivers.
- Respond to family questions, concerns, and service inquiries.
- Support new client intake and enrollment processes.
- Develop relationships with schools, healthcare professionals, community organizations, and referral sources.
- Represent Step Up Autism Academy professionally within the community.

Business Development
- Support the centre's growth and financial objectives.
- Develop strategies to increase client enrollment and service utilization.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, staffing costs, and operational performance.
- Identify new programs and service opportunities.
- Support marketing, community outreach, and referral development.
- Prepare operational reports and recommendations for ownership/leadership.

Compliance & Quality
- Ensure programs and operations follow applicable Ontario requirements and professional standards.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, policies, and records.




- Support privacy, confidentiality, health and safety, and quality-assurance practices.
- Work collaboratively with registered clinical professionals to ensure clinical services remain within appropriate professional scopes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Education, Social Services, Psychology, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of management or leadership experience preferred.
- Experience working in an autism, developmental services, healthcare, education, therapy, or child-services environment strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams is an asset.
- Strong understanding of autism services and the needs of children and families.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business and operational management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with staff recruitment, scheduling, budgeting, and performance management.
- Strong computer and administrative skills.
- Vulnerable Sector Check required.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
