Canada Star Secondary School (CSSS) and Windsor Hall (WH) are independent schools located on a shared campus in Richmond, British Columbia, providing a connected educational pathway for students in Grades 6–12.

Windsor Hall offers the International Baccalaureate program for Grades 6–9, while Canada Star Secondary School provides the B.C. Dogwood Diploma Program and Advanced Placement courses for Grades 10–12. Both schools are committed to small class sizes, personalized academic support, meaningful student experiences, and strong university preparation.

Role Description

We are seeking a creative, outgoing, and community-minded Marketing & Community Engagement Specialist to support both Canada Star Secondary School and Windsor Hall.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Richmond, B.C. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing the visibility and community awareness of both schools through strategic marketing, engaging content, school events, community partnerships, and meaningful connections with prospective and current families.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining marketing with relationship-building, event planning, storytelling, and direct engagement with families and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement marketing plans for both CSSS and Windsor Hall.
- Plan and coordinate open houses, information sessions, parent events, community events, student showcases, and other school activities.
- Organize and support school tours, ensuring prospective families receive a welcoming, informative, and engaging experience.
- Build relationships with local community organizations, businesses, educational partners, and other potential referral networks.
- Identify opportunities to increase the schools’ visibility and strengthen their presence within Richmond and surrounding communities.




- Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, websites, promotional materials, and digital campaigns.
- Capture and share authentic stories about student life, academic achievements, school programs, and community activities.
- Maintain a consistent content and event calendar for both schools.
- Collaborate closely with the admissions and academic teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective follow-up with prospective families.
- Support communication and engagement initiatives for current families, alumni, and the wider school community.
- Monitor campaign, event, social media, and inquiry performance and recommend improvements based on results.
- Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all marketing channels.
- Represent the schools professionally at community events, education fairs, and partnership meetings.

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business, Event Management, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent qualified experience.
- Experience in marketing, community engagement, event planning, school promotion, or a related role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence engaging prospective families, community partners, students, and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute events and manage multiple projects from concept to completion.
- Strong content creation and storytelling skills, including social media, email marketing, and promotional writing.
- Proficiency with digital marketing and design tools such as Canva, social media platforms, email marketing systems, and basic analytics.
- Comfortable hosting school tours, presenting school programs, and speaking with families in person.
- Highly organized, proactive, creative, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends for school and community events.
- Experience in education, independent schools, or student recruitment is an asset.
- Photography and videography skills, with the ability to capture high-quality photos and short-form videos
