Position Information:
Full-time Support Staff Position Opportunity; Temporary Employee Replacement (see Appendix D of collective agreement), September 2026 to March 2028
Payband: E; Starting Rate: $30.43; Four Year Rate: $35.11
Department: Campus Health and Wellness Centre
Hours: 35 hours per week (1) one hour lunch; Mon – Fri (7:00 am – 3:00 pm)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Office Manager of the Campus Health and Wellness Centre, the incumbent provides office and administrative duties which include reception, clerical and customer service support, triaging, insurance billing and reconciling duties.
- Provides a high degree of customer service in a timely manner, while responding to inquiries by telephone, electronically and in person. Greet clients by phone, electronically and in person. Follow-up on referrals sent by physician through clinic EMR, inform clients of office policies and record patient data.
- Schedules multiple calendars and appointment schedules for the medical clinic, lab, physicians, clinic nurses, mental health workers, and external providers/partnerships.
- Prepares and maintains medical records in accordance with Campus Centre policy, Ontario Health Information, Health Information Custodian Protection Act and guidelines set by the Ontario Medical Association.
- Billing and collection through student insurance companies, student accounts using accounting standards and procedures in accordance with DC/Ontario Tech finance department. Dealing with third party insurance such as WSIB.
- Utilizes a variety of software programs
- Guides, trains, and answers questions of work study students in the office setting.
Qualifications:
- 2-year Diploma or equivalent in Medical Office Administration
- Minimum 3 years in a medical office environment.
- Customer services specifically related to medical practice, eg. Dealing with patients in crisis.Knowledge of medical procedures/medical terminology and alternate service billing.
- Use of medical EMR system required.
- Some accounting background an asset.
- Knowledge of insurance companies and third party billing an asset.
