RONI Group is a multidisciplinary construction company, established in 1984, providing comprehensive infrastructure and construction services across commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sectors. We specialize in excavation, demolition, shoring, deep foundations, civil construction, concrete forming, waterproofing, landscaping, and full site preparation, delivering end-to-end solutions through our integrated group of companies. RONI Group is seeking a hands-on Health and Safety Coordinator to support our construction operations throughout the GTA.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, workers to promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable health, safety and environmental legislation. Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and hazard assessments. Identify unsafe conditions or practices and work with site leadership to implement corrective actions.
Support compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Projects Regulation and other applicable requirements. Review and maintain project-specific health and safety documentation. Deliver site orientations, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Assist supervisors and workers with hazard assessments, field-level risk assessments and safe work procedures. Monitor excavation, trenching, working-at-heights, traffic control, heavy-equipment and material-handling activities. Maintain accurate inspection records, training documentation, incident reports and safety statistics.
Verify that employees and subcontractors have the required training, certifications and personal protective equipment. Support emergency-response planning and project-specific safety initiatives. Assist with Ministry of Labour, Immigration,
Training and Skills Development inspections and other regulatory requirements.
Promote a positive safety culture by building strong working relationships with field employees, supervisors and project teams. Support the ongoing improvement of RONI Group’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Postsecondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Safety or a related discipline.
Two or more years of health and safety experience within construction, civil infrastructure or a related industry. Strong knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
Experience supporting civil, excavation, demolition, shoring, forming or heavy-construction projects is strongly preferred.
Current
Working at Heights and Standard First Aid/CPR certification. Ability to confidently address safety concerns with employees, supervisors and subcontractors. Comfortable working outdoors and travelling between active construction sites. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety-management or inspection systems. Retirement savings program.
