Responsibilities
- Assist our licensed paediatric occupational therapist in implementing patient treatment plans focused on improving sensory integration, emotional regulation, motor functions, cognitive abilities, and more.
- Prepare therapy areas and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for clients.
- Monitor client progress during therapy sessions, documenting observations and responses accurately for review by the supervising therapist.
- Support clients through therapeutic activities, encouraging engagement and motivation throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Maintain detailed records of client sessions, including progress notes, treatment plans, and any changes in condition.
- Educate clients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to promote continued progress outside of sessions; provide weekly resources and ongoing communication with families inside work hours.
- Manage a social media platform focusing on education and services provided, with the occasional humor-based reel to gain traction.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience working in acute care settings or pediatrics is highly desirable, demonstrating your ability to adapt to diverse patient needs.
- Familiarity with medical terminology enhances your effectiveness in documenting and communicating patient progress clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with a proactive attitude are essential for motivating patients of all ages.
- Previous hands-on experience supporting occupational therapy activities is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- A background in pediatrics or care environments supporting children with disabilities will help you excel in delivering specialized care tailored to individual patient goals.
