On-Call ECE / ECEA – Casual Substitute Educator

Gentle Bloom Early Beginnings is looking for a reliable and caring On-Call ECE or ECEA to join our team.

This is a casual/on-call position, ideal for someone who is looking for flexible hours and is available to provide coverage when our regular educators are sick, away, or unavailable due to appointments or personal commitments.

Responsibilities

- Provide safe, nurturing, and responsive care for children under 3 years old
- Support our daily program and routines
- Supervise children and maintain a safe and welcoming workplace
- Assist with meals, diapering, naps, indoor and outdoor activities
- Follow our daycare policies and licensing requirements
- Communicate positively and professionally with children, families, and team members

Qualifications
- Valid ECE or ECEA certification recognized in British Columbia
- Current First Aid certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check as required




- Experience working with infants and toddlers is an asset
- Reliable, responsible, and comfortable working independently
- Must be available for short-notice/on-call shifts when possible

Position Details
- Position: On-Call / Casual ECE or ECEA
- Age Group: Under 3 years old
- Hours: Casual, as needed
- Schedule: Shifts may be offered with short notice when regular staff are unavailableWage
- $21–$23/hour, depending on qualifications and experience
- ECEs are eligible for additional Wage Enhancement (WE) funding, subject to eligibility and applicable program requirements.
