In this vital role, you will be the friendly face patients see first, assisting with their needs from check-in to exam preparation, ensuring they receive exceptional care in a welcoming environment. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help us deliver top-quality eye health services while fostering a positive and productive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and verifying patient information.
- Assist patients with their initial intake, including gathering medical history and updating electronic medical records using Epic or similar systems.
- Prepare exam rooms by organizing necessary equipment and ensuring cleanliness to facilitate smooth optometric evaluations.
- Support optometrists during eye examinations by handing instruments, recording observations, and explaining procedures to patients.
- Manage optical inventory, assist with frame selections, and provide basic retail sales support for eyewear products.
- Communicate effectively with patients about medical terminology, treatment plans,
and follow-up instructions to ensure clarity and comfort.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, test results, and treatment notes in electronic medical records systems.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records platforms such as Epic is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and pediatrics enhances patient communication.
- Experience in optical retail sales or general retail sales helps in guiding patients through eyewear options confidently.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient care with a friendly, energetic attitude.
- Ability to handle front desk responsibilities efficiently while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of pediatric patient needs is a plus for supporting our diverse patient base.
