Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) is a state‑of‑the‑art, 375 bed, acute care facility serving the healthcare needs of people living in Thunder Bay and N.W.O. The organization is focused on providing patient and family centered care in an academic learning environment. To fulfill its Teaching and Research strategic goals,

TBRHSC supported (in 2007‑08) the creation of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute (TBRHRI), as a not‑for‑profit and independent research corporation but closely affiliated with the Health Sciences Centre. Through the partnership, TBRHRI and TBRHSC are advancing the academic research mandate and strengthening our collective role as a leader in health innovation.

In partnership with the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), we are currently seeking candidates for the following position:

Orthopedic Research Intern ‑ NOHFC #74003856 (1 Year Contract)

The individual filling this position works closely with the Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute's (TBRHRI)

Clinical Research Services Department (CRSD), and the Orthopedic Investigator Group at the Thunder Bay Regional

Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC). The Intern will support the coordination and advancement of clinical research activities within the Orthopedic Research platform, including physician‑initiated studies currently underway and upcoming research projects. Responsibilities will include assisting with the planning,



coordination, implementation,

and ongoing management of research projects. This will include research documentation, data collection and analysis, study‑related activities, and the preparation and dissemination of research findings, in accordance with study protocols and associated polices and procedures.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced,

diverse and evolving research environment. Strong communication, organizational, quantitative, analytical and critical‑thinking skills are essential. This position requires on‑site attendance to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
