Job Title: Paint Chemist (Formulation & Solvent Processing)

Location: Tilbury, Ontario

Pay: $55,000 - $100,000

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Afternoon, 8-hour shifts + overtime available, Some Weekends.

Shift Availability: After training and demonstrated competency, candidates must be available for day, afternoon, or split shifts.

We are seeking a Paint Chemist specializing in paint formulation to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone eager to learn and develop their skills in a production laboratory environment.

What You’ll Do

- Follow all health and safety procedures when handling paints, coatings, and chemicals in a manufacturing setting.
- Supervise and oversee the daily/afternoon operations of a manufacturing plant, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely.
- Monitoring production schedules and workflows to maximize efficiency.
- Learn to formulate and mix solvent-based paints and coatings according to production requirements.
- Perform color matching and quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
- Test and document paint properties such as viscosity, appearance, color accuracy,



and adhesion.
- Support production runs by monitoring and adjusting batches as required.
- Record data for process control and traceability.
- Assist in preparing customer samples and participate in quality improvement projects.

What We’re Looking For
- Post-secondary education in chemistry, materials science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in paint, coating, or chemical formulation.
- Comfortable working with solvent-based systems, resins, and pigments (training provided).
- Experience in a Supervisory role leading a team while following a production schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent color perception for matching standards.
- Basic computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication skills, a team-first attitude, and reliability.
- Enthusiastic about learning, experimentation, and building technical knowledge over time.
