Kodiak painting
Edmonton
This is subcontract work for an established painting crew — not a job for an individual painter.
Kodiak Painting is booking residential interior repaints across Edmonton and we're looking for one or two crews to take on steady work orders. You run your own business, bring your own painters, and invoice us per job. If you're a painter looking for hourly wages, this isn't the right posting — and we'd rather tell you that now than waste your time.
WHAT THE WORK IS
Residential interior repaints. Walls and baseboards on most jobs, with ceilings, doors, window trim and kitchen cabinets on larger scopes. Occupied homes, standard 8–9 ft ceilings on most, some stairwells and high walls.
Most work orders fall between $1,000 and $4,000 depending on scope.
HOW YOU GET PAID
Piecework against a written work order, priced from our rate sheet. Not hourly. Finish faster and you keep the difference — take longer and it's on you. Every job is measured and confirmed in writing before you start.
We supply the paint and primer. Progress draws are available on larger jobs, and we pay quickly after inspection sign-off — you shouldn't be floating our work through your payroll. Full rates and terms are covered on the phone call.
WHAT YOU PROVIDE
- Your own crew — minimum two painters plus yourself or a designated lead on site
- Vehicle, ladders, sprayers, drop sheets, masking and normal production equipment
- WCB-Alberta account covering your workers — not personal coverage alone
- $2,000,000 commercial general liability
- Your own scheduling, methods and crew management
HARD REQUIREMENTS — PLEASE DON'T APPLY WITHOUT THESE
1. An active WCB-Alberta account that covers your workers
2. $2M commercial general liability insurance
3. At least two painters besides yourself
4. Own vehicle and spray equipment
5. Three years minimum running residential repaint crews
6. Photos of at least three recent finished jobs
You stay free to take work from other companies. We're not asking for exclusivity and we're not setting your hours — we hand you a scope and a price, and how you run the job is your business.
HOW TO APPLY
Reply with
1. Your business name and how long you've been running crews
2. Crew size
3. Confirmation you have a WCB account covering workers, and $2M CGL
4. Three photos of recent finished work
5. The largest single job your crew has completed, and how many days it took
That last question is the one we actually read. Applications without it go to the bottom of the pile. Shortlisted crews get a phone call, then one paid trial work order at full rate before we commit to ongoing volume.
