Overview:

We are seeking a Part-Time Accountant (Volunteer Role) who will assist with booking and accounting using QuickBooks Online. We are looking for a robust focused candidate, who enjoys challenges of accounting and is comfortable working with small start up organizations. Most of the work is done remotely. This is a volunteer role.

About Us

Re-Imagine Ontario (“The Organization” or “RiO”) is a registered charitable organization whose mission is to improve the health, education, and employment of vulnerable individuals, with particular focus on black youth, through community networks, development opportunities, and family supports. The programs we run include both youth and programs for isolated seniors.

The Role The Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in the accounting team. This individual will work closely with a CPA and the IT Manager to ensure the successful recording of the organizations payments and receipts.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Accounting and Reporting:

- Enter payments and receipts into QuickBooks Online
- Bank Reconciliations
- Complete Assets and Liabilities Reconciliations
- Run Programs Reports

Qualifications

- Accounting Qualifications or working towards a CPA designation is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in finance,



accounting or bookkeeping
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online is an asset
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate with project participants and stakeholders.
- Experience in the non-profit sector or with community-based organizations is an asset.
