Dr. Poon Optometry has been serving the Markham/Richmond Hill area for 10+ years. We are seeking a friendly and motivated Optometric Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. The right candidate will be able to work well independently and as part of a team, have strong attention to detail and be compassionate, honest and hardworking. The successful Optometric Assistant/Receptionist will possess the ability to take initiative, solve problems and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Provide assistance to the optometrist during examinations and treatments.
- Administer pre-tests and assist in filling out patient forms.
- Record measurements of patients' eye pressure, test results, and print out reports.
- Prepare treatment areas for appointments and keep them clean and tidy.




- Explain procedures to patients.
- Assist Patients in Optical Dispensary and process Glasses/Contact Lenses Orders
- Communicate with other healthcare providers.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient information.

Note: This is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the clinic. Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Experience:
- Retail sales: 2 years (preferred)
- Administrative/Front Desk: 2 years (preferred)
