Soda Laundry is looking for a reliable and experienced part-time driver to help with our daily laundry pickup and delivery routes using our Mercedes-Benz Metris van.

Initially, you will work alongside a Soda Laundry employee who will handle the actual customer pickups and deliveries. Your primary responsibility will be driving between stops, positioning the vehicle safely and helping the route run efficiently.

This setup allows the driver to remain with the van, circle the block or reposition when necessary while the employee enters buildings and completes pickups or deliveries.

As you become familiar with our routes, customers and operations, the role is expected to expand to completing pickups and deliveries independently.

Responsibilities

Initially

- Safely drive the company’s Mercedes-Benz Metris throughout downtown Toronto.
- Follow a predefined route using our driver app.
- Drive between customer pickup and delivery locations while working alongside a Soda Laundry employee.
- Remain with or near the van when practical while the employee completes customer stops.
- Circle the block or reposition the vehicle when stopping or waiting is not permitted.
- Follow Toronto parking, Green P, loading-zone and curbside regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading laundry bags when needed.
- Communicate with the employee and operations team regarding route progress, delays or access issues.
- Ensure the vehicle is operated safely and responsibly.
- Report vehicle concerns, incidents and parking violations promptly.




- Return the van and company equipment to the designated location after the route.

As the role develops, responsibilities may also include:
- Completing laundry pickups and deliveries independently.
- Loading organized laundry bags into the van.
- Reviewing and organizing the day’s route before leaving.
- Bringing laundry into and out of condos, homes and businesses.
- Completing nearby stops on foot when practical.
- Contacting customers regarding arrival times, delays or schedule changes.
- Taking delivery photos in the app as proof of delivery.
- Ensuring every laundry bag is correctly identified and accounted for.
- Using the driver app to confirm pickups and deliveries.

Requirements

- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence.
- Conviction free for 3 years
- At fault accident free for 9 years
- At least one year of commercial delivery-driving experience in Toronto.
- Experience driving and parking a cargo van in downtown Toronto.
- Mercedes-Benz Metris experience is preferred.
- Acceptable driver’s abstract and ability to meet the company insurer’s requirements.
- Valuable knowledge of downtown Toronto streets, parking and loading restrictions.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry laundry bags weighing up to 30 lb, with accommodation where required.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable working both alongside another employee and independently.
- Friendly, professional and concise communication.




- Comfortable using a smartphone-based routing and delivery app.
- Consistent weekday availability.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Schedule This is a part-time position focused initially on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with short daytime routes typically lasting approximately 2–3 hours per day.

Route duration may vary depending on daily pickup and delivery volume, and additional hours may occasionally be available.

As delivery volume grows, the position may expand to additional hours or responsibilities.

Introductory Period The successful candidate will complete a one-month introductory/probationary period. During the initial training period, the driver will work alongside a Soda Laundry employee. Progression to independent pickup and delivery work will depend on safe driving, reliability, familiarity with the routes, proper use of the delivery app, customer communication and order accuracy.
