Job Summary

Join our vibrant culinary team as a Pastry Chef Assistant and embark on an exciting journey into the world of doughnuts and pastry. This exciting position offers a hands-on experience in creating beautiful, delicious doughnuts and pastries while developing essential skills in food preparation, cake decorating, and kitchen operations. You will work under the guidance of our talented Executive Pastry Chef and you will learn the art of baking, food handling, and presentation, gaining valuable restaurant experience that sets the foundation for a successful culinary career.

Responsibilities

- Assist in preparing a variety of doughs, batters, glazes and pastry cream all made from scratch with precision and attention to detail
- Support the team in decorating doughnuts using various techniques to ensure visually appealing presentations
- Prep tasks such as measuring ingredients, mixing batters with precision




- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene practices in all aspects of food handling and kitchen cleanliness
- Follow recipes accurately and learn to adapt techniques under supervision to improve skills
- Contribute to maintaining an organized workspace by cleaning equipment, utensils, and workstations regularly

Experience

- Recent graduation from Pastry School or Current enrolment
- Minimum 1 year of restaurant or food industry experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food handling safety protocols is advantageous
- Basic skills in cake decorating or baking are beneficial but can be learned on the job
- Strong interest in developing culinary skills within a dynamic kitchen environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
