A nationally established business law firm is continuing the growth of its tax litigation practice in Montreal and is seeking a senior Partner to actively contribute to the expansion of the group. The firm advises corporate, institutional and entrepreneurial clients on complex tax disputes involving significant financial and strategic stakes.

The Role

As a Tax Litigation Partner, you will lead strategic matters involving tax audits, objections, judicial reviews and complex disputes with tax authorities.

You will also play an important role in business development, practice growth and the mentorship of professionals within the group.

Responsibilities

- Advise businesses, investors and taxpayers on complex tax disputes
- Represent clients in audits, objections and tax litigation matters
- Appear before the Tax Court of Canada, Federal Court and other relevant tribunals
- Develop litigation strategies tailored to clients' tax and business objectives
- Collaborate with transactional tax and business law teams
- Participate in matters involving corporate tax,



international tax and reorganizations
- Maintain and grow a client portfolio
- Mentor and develop team members
- Actively participate in business development and practice visibility initiatives
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the tax group

Requirements

- Member in positive standing of the Québec Bar
- Recognized expertise in tax litigation
- Established client portfolio or strong business development capabilities
- Significant experience before courts and tax authorities
- Strong strategic, legal drafting and advocacy skills
- Solid understanding of corporate and commercial tax matters
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to develop and manage a team
- Strategic judgment, rigor and strong prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Bilingualism in French and English
