The Performance Social Specialist at Cairns Oneil supports strategic planning, execution, and optimization of paid social media campaigns for assigned clients. This role blends strategic thinking with tactical execution, requiring strong collaboration, attention to detail, knowledge in all social channels, and strong understanding of overall digital landscape.
The main responsibilities of the Job include but are not limited to:
Strategy Development, Planning and Execution
Collaborate with the Account Lead/Director/Supervisor to:
o Deliver strategic media plans leveraging our “Awaken” planning system. Helping to generate consumer insights and strategy development.
o Translate strategic goals to collaborate on tactical plans across all social channels.
o Evaluate channels and tactics using data and past performance benchmarks.
o Ensure social strategy and tactical plan ties into overarching digital plan to meet client KPIs
Identify opportunities to test new channels, platforms, formats, AI features or targeting approaches that align with business goals.
Ability to autonomously set up and execute plans in Paid Social platforms.
QA and troubleshoot campaign setups as needed across various accounts
Manage project trackers and facilitate cross-functional communications.
Technical Fluency A deep working knowledge of: Facebook, Instagram,
Building knowledge of X, Snap, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, Reddit
General understanding of Google Ads, CM360, and Analytics platforms to guide, inform and assist in planning and executing campaigns.
Understand AI tools, targeting, creative formats, bid strategies, and campaign setup in key digital platforms.
Work towards a deeper understanding of data and technology utilization in Marketing and Media
Understand and assist in the implementation of Pixel/CAPI across accounts
Creative & Trafficking Coordination
Collect, QA,
and traffic creative assets with appropriate naming and specs.
Liaise with ad operations as needed
Understand naming conventions, click tracking, and tagging protocols.
Partner with ad ops and tech to ensure proper implementation.
General Account and Team Collaboration
Collaborate on campaign performance dashboards, providing campaign updates and insights through regular meetings with team
Help with pacing, ROI, and engagement metrics.
Assist in wrap reports, QBRs, and pitch support as needed.
Join client calls, deliver updates, and explain channels, media strategies and performance
Continuous Development
Be curious and engaged; ask questions, seek feedback, and contribute to team learning.
Showcase passion for the industry; stay current with digital media innovations and consumer trends in the Canadian market.
Pursue industry certifications: Meta Blueprint, LinkedIn Marketing. Reddit Ads, TikTok, Snap, Google Ads / GA4, IAB Canada Training, etc
Attend events and webinars (CMDC, AdWeek, IAB Canada, etc.).
Have a partnership mentality; be collaborative with internal and external stakeholders, including sharing key updates from vendors and platforms with your teams and clients.
Help train, onboard and mentor junior staff and interns as experience builds.
Experience required
· University or College degree in marketing, advertising or a related field
· 3+ years of experience in paid social channels
· Meta in platform experience executing complex campaigns.
· In platform experience of other social and digital platforms is an asset
· A deep knowledge of the Canadian Media ecosystem
· Understanding of strategy development to build successful media plans
· Advanced level MS office skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
· Solid presentation and communication skills
· A natural sense of curiosity and ambition
· Critical thinking to be able to develop insights, hypothesis and problem solve.
- Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
