We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to a woman after stoke. She is mobile but she would require assistance at home (Northside Edmonton).
Duties include but are not limited to: prompting the daily routine, PM routine (bathing, dressing, toileting), medication administration, light housekeeping, supervision, and companionship. The ideal candidate will have a robust commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities through attentive caregiving and support. Duties
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring under supervision.
- Support with meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition
- Help with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with mobility and transfer activities,
including heavy lifting when necessary
Experience
- Qualifications and Other Requirements: The successful candidate must have a recent criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check, be a non-smoker, and speak fluent English. (Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred).
- Previous experience as a Community Support Worker is not required but will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of caregiving best practices, medication administration, and patient safety standards is advantageous
- Ability to perform lifting when required and handle physically demanding tasks
- Previous experience in care giving roles involving meal preparation, cleaning, or nursing duties is beneficial
- A compassionate attitude combined with strong communication skills is essential for success in this role.
