Atria Compounding Pharmacy is a Toronto-based pharmacy specializing in personalized medicine and customized compounding. We work closely with patients and healthcare providers to prepare individualized formulations in areas including dermatology and skincare, hair care, hormone therapy, pain management, pediatrics, and other specialized therapies.

About the Position

We are looking for a pharmacist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a collaborative pharmacy environment.

Previous compounding experience is an asset but is not required. Training will be provided for a pharmacist who demonstrates a genuine interest in learning compounding and personalized medicine.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide professional pharmacist services in accordance with Ontario pharmacy standards and regulations
- Review prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, accuracy, dosing, interactions, and potential concerns
- Counsel patients on prescription medications and compounded preparations
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding prescriptions, formulation options, and patient-specific needs
- Perform prescription checking and ensure accurate dispensing and documentation
- Support the preparation and dispensing of compounded prescriptions
- Research and develop customized formulations in collaboration with the pharmacy team based on patient and prescriber needs
- Source and procure pharmaceutical ingredients, bases, packaging, and supplies, while considering quality, availability, cost, and suitability for compounding
- Maintain knowledge of commonly used ingredients, formulations, and emerging treatment options, particularly in dermatology, skincare,



hair care, and personalized medicine
- Provide knowledgeable consultations to patients interested in Atria's dermatology, skincare, and hair care services and formulations
- Support patient conversion and retention by understanding patient needs, clearly explaining appropriate services and options, following up on inquiries, and building long-term patient relationships
- Identify opportunities to expand Atria's dermatology and hair care services through patient education, physician collaboration, and appropriate formulation development
- Respond to patient inquiries professionally and provide timely follow-up
- Assist with general pharmacy administrative duties, including filing, prescription documentation, patient records, forms, faxing, scanning, and other day-to-day administrative tasks as required
- Oversee prescription and compounding workflow to ensure preparations are completed within Atria’s expected turnaround times while maintaining accuracy, quality, and patient safety
- Proactively manage delays and communicate realistic timelines to patients, ensuring patient expectations are appropriately managed and concerns are addressed promptly
- Coordinate with pharmacy assistants and compounding technicians to prioritize urgent prescriptions and maintain an efficient workflow from prescription intake through compounding, final checking, and pickup or delivery
- Maintain accurate patient records and appropriate documentation
- Follow pharmacy policies, SOPs, quality assurance procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Assess and prescribe for eligible minor ailments within the pharmacist’s scope of practice and in accordance with Ontario requirements




- Provide vaccination and injection services to eligible patients in accordance with applicable standards and scope of practice
- Help promote patient awareness and appropriate use of Atria’s pharmacist-led clinical services
- Contribute ideas to improve patient care, workflow, product offerings, and overall pharmacy growth

Qualifications

- Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (required)
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy practice and medication therapy
- Excellent communication and patient counselling skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
- Professional, dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team
- Interest in compounding, personalized medicine, dermatology, skincare, hair care, or hormone therapy is an asset
- Previous compounding pharmacy experience is an asset but not required
- Completion of required education and training for minor ailment prescribing in Ontario, with the ability and willingness to provide minor ailment assessments and prescribing services
- Authorized and qualified to administer injections and vaccines in Ontario
- Current CPR/First Aid certification, where required for injection services
