/ Duties WRHN @ Midtown (formally Grand River Hospital) and WRHN @ Queen’s Blvd (formally St. Mary’s General Hospital) have undergone a voluntary merger and have well-defined and complementary clinical programs to serve both the local community and the region.
Each hospital has acute care ED services with patient volumes reaching approximately 70,000 visits/annum. Queen’s Blvd is a Regional Cardiac Care Centre and a Centre of Excellence for Respiratory and Thoracic Care. WRHN @ Midtown hosts several regional programs including the Regional Cancer Centre, Hepatobiliary Surgery, and stroke, renal, pediatric and mental health programs.
Queen’s Blvd is home to the Regional Cardiac Care Centre (RCCC) for Waterloo-Wellington. In addition, the centre accepts referrals from Perth County, Grey-Bruce, Huron, Brant, and Oxford Counties, as well as Haldimand-Norfolk. The RCCC includes two state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization suites, two cardiovascular operating rooms,
an eight bed cardiovascular intensive care unit and 64 inpatient beds.
Emergency cardiac catheterization services and emergency cardiac surgery are available on a 24/7 basis.
Qualifications / Required Skills The candidate must be eligible for independent practice licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and hold certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Plastic Surgery. Proficiency in craniofacial surgery would be an asset.
