We are looking for a Playwright Automation Tester / AI-Enabled Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing solutions using Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, AI-assisted testing, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and modern CI/CD practices.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in web automation and a passion for leveraging Generative AI and agentic technologies to accelerate test creation, execution, maintenance, debugging, and reporting.

Key ResponsibilitiesTest Automation

· Design, develop, and maintain robust UI and API automation frameworks using Playwright.

· Build reusable, modular, and scalable automation components using TypeScript/JavaScript.

· Develop automated test suites for functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and smoke testing.

· Implement Playwright parallel execution, workers, sharding, and multi-VM execution to reduce overall test execution time.

· Execute large-scale test suites across multiple environments and browsers.

· Implement effective test data management, fixtures, hooks, assertions, retries, and reporting.

· Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

AI-Driven Test Automation

· Leverage Generative AI/LLMs to accelerate test case generation from requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and existing application behavior.

· Use AI to generate and optimize Playwright test scripts, locators, assertions, test data, and test scenarios.

· Implement AI-assisted analysis of automation failures, logs, screenshots, traces, and error messages.

· Use AI to identify flaky tests, duplicate test cases, coverage gaps, and potential regression areas.

· Explore AI-based self-healing automation, dynamic locator recommendations, and intelligent test maintenance.

· Use AI to convert manual test cases into automated Playwright scenarios.

· Evaluate AI-generated test cases and ensure appropriate validation, accuracy, security, and maintainability.

MCP / Agentic Automation

· Work with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and MCP-enabled tools to connect AI agents with testing frameworks, applications, APIs, repositories, test management systems, and CI/CD platforms.

· Build or integrate MCP servers/tools that allow AI agents to interact with testing environments and automation assets.

· Enable AI agents to perform activities such as:

o Analyze requirements and generate test scenarios.

o Create or update Playwright automation scripts.

o Execute automated tests.

o Analyze Playwright traces, screenshots, videos, and logs.

o Identify root causes of failures.

o Recommend or implement automation fixes.

o Generate test execution summaries and defect reports.

· Design workflows where AI agents can orchestrate test creation → execution → analysis → reporting.

· Explore agentic approaches for continuous test optimization and intelligent regression testing.

Framework & Architecture

· Contribute to the architecture and evolution of enterprise-grade Playwright automation frameworks.

· Design automation solutions capable of executing hundreds or thousands of test cases in parallel.

· Implement distributed execution across multiple workers, containers, VMs, or cloud infrastructure.

· Establish automation coding standards, design patterns, reusable utilities, and framework governance.

· Optimize automation execution time, reliability, scalability, and resource utilization.

CI/CD & DevOps

· Integrate Playwright automation with tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms.

· Configure parallel and distributed test execution within CI/CD pipelines.

· Publish test reports, screenshots, videos, traces, and execution metrics.

· Implement automated quality gates based on test results.

API & Backend Testing

· Develop API automation using Playwright APIRequest or other suitable tools.

· Validate REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication, authorization, request/response payloads, and integrations.

· Combine API and UI automation to create comprehensive end-to-end testing workflows.

Reporting & Quality Engineering

· Analyze test execution results and identify trends, failures, and quality risks.

· Integrate reporting solutions such as Playwright HTML Reports, Allure, dashboards, or enterprise reporting platforms.

· Provide meaningful automation metrics including execution time, pass/fail rate, flaky tests, coverage, and defect trends.

Required Technical Skills

· Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.

· Strong knowledge of TypeScript and/or JavaScript.

· Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.

· Robust understanding of UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

· Experience with Playwright Test Runner, fixtures, hooks, projects, workers, retries, tracing, screenshots, videos, and reporters.

· Experience with parallel execution and test optimization.

· Understanding of Git and CI/CD.

· Experience with REST APIs and API testing.

· Good understanding of HTML, CSS, DOM, selectors, and browser developer tools.

· Experience working with Agile/Scrum development teams.

AI / Emerging Technology Skills

· Practical experience using Generative AI tools for software testing and development.

· Familiarity with LLMs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or equivalent platforms.

· Understanding of prompt engineering and structured prompting for test generation.

· Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and AI tool integrations.

· Understanding of AI agents / agentic workflows.

· Experience integrating AI with automation frameworks is highly desirable.

· Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or AI-based knowledge retrieval is a plus.

· Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent is a plus.

Preferred Skills
