Job Summary:
WonderSTEM (RoboThink GTA) is looking for energetic, patient, and friendly Preschool class instructors to lead kids in having fun while learning!
We are a STEM edu-tainment company that introduces children in grades K-8 to robotics and coding concepts through the use of our patented robot building blocks and easy-to-use coding software. We’re looking to expand our company with smart, creative, and fun instructors to join our team!
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE/RECE) experience or strong experience working with children ages 4–5 is greatly preferred.
- Energetic, patient, and passionate about engaging preschool children through hands-on, play-based learning.
- Comfortable managing a small group of young children and guiding them through simple robotics building activities.
- Must have access to a car and be able to travel to program locations in Oakville.
- Will be available for Preschool program (Saturday, 9am-10am; Sunday, 10am-11:30am; optional: Monday to Thursday, 18:00pm-20:00pm).
Prior knowledge of robotics is preferred but NOT mandatory. Training will be provided to candidates who do not have a robotics background, so don't be shy! Responsibility:
- Complete training by familiarize oneself with RoboThink hardware and course material, carefully study the teacher training manual, classroom procedures and policies
- Using RoboThink materials to conduct classes – pay attention to individual student to help them with learning process; organize fun games in class
- Transportation of class materials from storage to the classroom; clean-up and pack away classroom materials for transport back to storage
- Understand the basic concepts of RoboThink and communicate them to parents.
- Provide feedbacks and concerns back to RoboThink program director
Competitive compensation of $18-$25/hour based on experience and ability. A successful candidate must be able to provide a Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector check, High FIVE certificate, and be legally allowed to work in Canada.
