Job Summary The Program Manager, Municipal Fleet provides strategic and operational leadership for the City's municipal fleet maintenance program, ensuring a safe, reliable, available and sustainable fleet that supports essential municipal services around the clock. This role provides leadership and direction to the Maintenance Team, translating organizational priorities into clear operational objectives, performance expectations and continuous improvement initiatives.

While maintaining a strong and visible focus on shop-floor operations, the position also takes a broader view of team performance, workforce effectiveness, service delivery, quality, productivity, customer service, data-driven decision-making and long-term program improvement. Working collaboratively with supervisors, technicians, internal service areas and external partners, the Program Manager creates an environment where people, processes and technology work together to deliver consistent, high-quality fleet maintenance services.

Education And Experience Completion of 4 year university degree in Business Administration or related field

Minimum of 8 years of experience in the management of a municipal fleet maintenance operation.

KNOWLEDGE

- Extensive knowledge of the Fleet Management Information System (FMIS) and modelling theories and practices.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the technologies and procedures involved in fleet maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle technology.
- Project management or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of collective agreements, health & safety and environment regulations.
- Knowledge of SAP R3 system.




- Knowledge of performance measurement requirements in an automated management system.
- Knowledge of pollution control devices and stays current with developments.
- Awareness of data monitoring technology will be considered an asset.
- Utilizes MS Office suite for daily tasks.
- Knowledgeable of shop and vehicle safety practices and procedures.
- Understanding of the ‘Enterprise Culture’ concept as it pertains to Fleet Services.
- Knowledge and experience in the area of customer relations in a fleet workplace.
- Must possess the training, experience and knowledge to organize the work and its performance.
- Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the work place, and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures.

Desirable Qualifications:
- Customer focused.
- Experience in fleet and multi-shop operations.
- Experience dealing with Labour Relations matters.
