The Village of Frobisher is looking for a Public Works Foreman. This is a permanent part-time position with flexible hours that vary throughout the year depending on seasonal demands, weather conditions, and municipal priorities.
The Maintenance Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of municipal infrastructure and equipment.
The Foreman reports directly to Council through the Administrator and works closely with the Administrator to prioritize projects, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure municipal assets are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and abilities:

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Daily reporting and upkeep of municipal water & sewer works, including lagoon
· Street maintenance; including snow removal, grading, pothole filling
· General maintenance; mowing, building & property upkeep, including cemetery and municipal buildings
· Guiding and assisting in situations that employ an external contractor; including water & sewer line work, road maintenance, special projects, etc.
· Operating and maintaining municipal equipment, including tractors and mowers, and ensuring equipment is in safe operating condition
· Performing routine equipment inspections, servicing, minor repairs, and coordinating major repairs
· Coordinating municipal maintenance projects and seasonal work
· Maintaining inventory records, equipment logs, time sheets, and maintenance records
· Preparing reports for the Administrator and Council as requested
· Assisting during local emergency situations
· Maintaining clean,
organized, and safe municipal spaces
· Providing budgetary and maintenance recommendations annually
· Ensuring respectful communication with residents, Council members, and the Administrator
· Performing other maintenance duties as assigned by the Administrator
Qualifications / education requirements include:
· Grade 12 diploma or GED preferred
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license; abstract may be required
· Experience operating equipment; tractor, ride-on mowers, weed whipper, chainsaw, and other maintenance equipment
· Experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, or general maintenance, considered an asset
· Class 1, or greater, Water Treatment & Distribution, considered an asset
· Class 1, or greater, Wastewater Treatment & Collection, considered an asset
Note: any required education will be supported by the Village
Compensation & Benefits:
· Employer matched pension plan (MEPP); and

· Wage to be determined based on experience and education.
The successful candidate will report to the Village Council, Administration, and Certified Water & Wastewater Operator. The position is guaranteed 3 hours per day, 7 days per week, with potential for additional hours seasonally. It is preferred that the individual resides locally.
