Role Description The Quality Assurance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Richmond, BC. This role is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance activities, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of QA policies, procedures, and documentation across the production of fermented supplements.
Day-to-day tasks include monitoring compliance with regulatory standards and certifications, conducting internal audits, reviewing batch records and test results, and leading investigations into non-conformances and customer complaints.
The Quality Assurance
Manager collaborates closely with production, R&D;, and supply chain teams to ensure raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet defined specifications.
This role also leads training on quality standards, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and supports new product introduction from a quality and compliance perspective.
Qualifications
- Experience in quality assurance or quality control within food, natural health products, supplements, or related manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Site License, relevant regulatory requirements, and industry standards for natural health and fermented products.
- Strong skills in documentation management, SOP development, internal auditing, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Ability to analyze quality data, interpret laboratory results, and use root-cause analysis tools to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating clearly, and leading training on quality and compliance topics.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as food science, microbiology, chemistry, engineering, or a related discipline; skilled QA/Regulatory certifications are an asset.
- Experience with fermentation processes, organic certification standards, and natural health product regulations is considered an advantage.
