We are currently looking for a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) to join our growing clinical team.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced counsellor who has a strong interest in trauma-informed therapy, attachment, and emotional healing.

The ideal candidate will have EMDR training and experience or training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). We are particularly interested in clinicians who value the therapeutic relationship and use an integrative, client-centred approach.

Experience working with children and youth is an asset. Training or experience in Sandtray Therapy, play-based therapy, or other creative therapeutic approaches would be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual, couples, family, and/or child counselling based on your training and areas of clinical competency.
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide trauma-informed and evidence-based counselling services.
- Utilize EMDR when clinically appropriate and within your scope of training.
- Incorporate EFT and attachment-based approaches into clinical work where appropriate.
- Support clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, attachment difficulties, life transitions, and other mental health challenges.




- Work with children and youth using developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Utilize Sandtray, play-based, or creative therapeutic interventions when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
- Maintain high standards of professional ethics, confidentiality, and clinical practice.

Qualifications

- Master's degree in Counselling, Clinical Psychology, or a related mental health field.
- Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with BCACC or eligible for registration.
- Clinical counselling experience in a private practice, community, healthcare, or mental health setting.
- EMDR training strongly preferred.
- Training and/or experience in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and attachment-focused care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
- Ability to work independently while being an active member of a collaborative clinical team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-informed practice.

Assets The following would be considered strong assets:

- Experience working with children and youth
- Sandtray Therapy training or experience
- Play therapy or other child-focused therapeutic approaches
- Experience working with trauma and complex mental health concerns
- Additional training in attachment-based or somatic approaches
- Experience working with couples and families
- Fluency in a language other than English
